A man died in Cairo on Friday during clashes between police and protesters supporting the formerly ruling Muslim Brotherhood, said Al-Ahram's Arabic news website.
The clashes occurred in the Matareya district in east Cairo. No further details were reported by the website.
Such clashes are common, but pro-Brotherhood protests have fizzled out over the past year, confined mainly to the peripheries of the country's capital.
Protests were also reported in Giza's Haram Street and the adjacent Al-Saf district, which Al-Ahram said were dispersed by police.
