Egyptian pop diva Sherine Abdel-Wahab has been sentenced by a Cairo court to six months in jail and fined LE500 (around $71) over a wrangle with a leading actor, a judicial source said.
The case was brought in August by movie star Sherif Mounir, who accused the singer of affronting him and causing damage to his house.
The accusations are rooted in a squabble between the two celebrities, who live in the same apartment building.
Sherif, 54, claimed Abdel-Wahab's air conditioner leaked water onto his balcony and that a piece of marble fell from the singer's balcony and almost injured his daughter.
Sherif claimed the 34-year-old songster insulted him when he attempted to complain about the incident, prompting the actor to take the matter to court.
She was also ordered to pay Mounir LE2,000 (approx. $280) compensation.
Abdel-Wahab has sold millions of albums throughout her career. She also coached in the Arab edition of the smash hit TV show The Voice.
Mounir is an accomplished actor who has starred in numerous blockbusters, TV shows and plays since the 1980s.
