Cool weather and rain will continue across Egypt until Tuesday, a spokesperson for the meteorology authority has said.
Wahid Seoudi told Ahram Online that the rain will be heavy in Sinai and Upper Egypt, but moderate in Cairo and Lower Egypt.
Flooding caused traffic congestion in Cairo on Monday.
Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Hossam Moghazi said a new operations rooms had been set up to monitor flooding events.
The ministry will carry out necessary maintenance on waterways and canals, he added.
Egyptians took to social media to comment on the cold weather, with many claiming the winter will be among the coldest in recent memory.
In 2010, four people were killed in Egypt due to accidents caused by bad weather.
