President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi visited Thursday the General Intelligence Service headquarters in Cairo, reported MENA news agency.
The president reportedly made the visit to follow up with officials about recent national security issues.
On 21 December 2014, El-Sisi issued a presidential decree appointing Khaled Fawzy as the head of the General Intelligence Service, replacing Mohamed Farid El-Tohamy, who was forced into retirement.
Khaled Fawzy was head of the National Security Authority, an arm of the General Intelligence Service (GIS), before replacing El-Tohamy, who is said to have been relieved of his post for health reasons
