Hosni Mubarak's wife's fifteen day detention order could see her spending time in east Cairo prison

Ousted president Hosni Mubarak’s wife will be transported to Qanater Prison in east Cairo from Sharm El-Sheikh on a military aircraft, a source told Ahram Online.

The prosecution started questioning the former first lady on Friday morning over charges pertaining to how she accrued her wealth. The same source revealed that she did not have a lawyer present. She has been remanded in custody for fifteen days, pending further investigation.

A security source has, however, told state news agency MENA that the security authorities have not yet received an order to imprison Mubarak. The source said that as soon as they receive the order, she will be transported to one of Cairo's women prisons, most likely Qanater.

The former president was also questioned in a Sharm El-Sheikh hospital yesterday. His representative Fareed El-Deeb, the lawyer known as the devil’s advocate, attended the questioning.
