The death toll from the latest Egyptian soccer stadium violence on Sunday has climbed to 20 after a girl was pronounced dead, the Forensic Medicine authority said.
The health ministry had said 19 people were killed after security forces used teargas to stop fans from entering the Air Defence Stadium to watch a league match between two Cairo Clubs, Zamalek and Enppi.
Egypt's forensic Medicine spokesman Hisham Abdel-Hamed said in TV comments that a 14-year-old girl was declared dead late on Monday.
Eyewitnesses said most of the deaths occurred when the crowd stampeded after security forces used teargas to disperse the fans, mostly of the diehard Ultras group, who were trying to force their way into the stadium.
Health officials and police said all the victims in the violence, which injured at least 20 others, were crushed in a stampede, stressing there was no signs of gunshot or birdshot.
Authorities ordered a probe into the deaths.
Egyptian prosecution are questioning at least 17 Zamalek fans on attempts to storm the stadium and allegations they assaulted police.
The violence was the deadliest football-related disaster since the infamous 2012 killing of over 70 Ahly in Port Said stadium.
