A first lieutenant, a sergeant and four conscripts were killed when their armoured vehicle was bombed in North Sinai on Sunday morning, army spokesman Mohamed Samir announced on Sunday.

Two other soldiers were also injured when the roadside bomb exploded on the Al-Arish to Sheikh Zuweid highway.

The injured were taken to Al-Arish military hospital.

Egypt's army has been fighting a decade-long militant Islamist insurgency that has spiked since the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi in summer 2013.

Hundreds of police and soldiers as well civilians have been killed in militant attacks.

Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis, an Islamist militant group, has claimed many of the attacks against the army and police in Sinai. In November 2014, the group swore allegiance to Islamic State, which has taken over vast areas of Syria and Iraq and now operates in Libya.

Guerrella War
No army worldwide can fight against hit-and-run. We need a canal along Gaza border deep and wide enough to flood underground tunnels and border crossing. In addition, let us fight terrorists on their turf by undercover agents to take out their leaders starting from criminal Hamas.

I am sorry for these poor soldiers....but
The main blaim falls on tyhe regime. The regime massacred decapitated democracy, massacred protesters, and delared its opponents "terrorisdts." It also used the Egyptian Justice System as rubber stamp to issue death penalties on the leaders of the MB who have done absolutely no wrong doing, apart from running in elections and winning. It is ideological vengeance, nothing but. So what do you expect as a reaction to this orgy of murder and oppression? I know what I am saying will be scoffed at by many. But one has to say the truth, however unpopular.
