Six people were killed and seven injured in a road accident in Suez governorate on Monday, state news agency MENA reported.
Three vehicles collided – a truck, a microbus and a car – on the Suez-Ain Sokhna highway.
A medical source told MENA the injured were transported to two hospitals in Suez, and at least one had sustained a serious injury.
Road accidents, which official statistics say claim 18 lives a day, are commonplace in Egypt due to ill-maintained roads as well as disregard for traffic laws.
A road accident in Upper Egypt in March, between a microbus and two trucks, left 16 dead.
