The spokesman for Egypt's armed forces said on Saturday that the army has killed 29 alleged militants and arrested 133 others in raids on North Sinai cities from 20 to 30 April.
In a statement on the miltiary's official Facebook page, spokesman Mohamed Samir said that military campaigns in the cities of Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid targeted alleged militant hideouts.
Forces damaged some 51 locations used for terrorist refuge and operations planning, the statement said, as well as 34 vehicles and 96 motorcycles.
The army said it also carried out controlled detonations of seven bombs that had been planted.
The Egyptian army regularly issues reports on militants, who reportedly belong to Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis, it says it has killed during the last two years of its campaign against Islamist insurgents in the Sinai Peninsula.
