Two Ukrainian tourists were killed and 11 other tourists injured in a traffic accident on Tuesday in the Egyptian resort town of Hurghada.
A tourist bus and a truck crashed in the Shokeir area of the town, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported. Emergency services rescued twenty tourists from the site.
The tourists involved in the incident were all either Ukrainian or Russian, although details of the nationalities of those injured was not immediately available. Among the injured was the Egyptian bus driver.
In May last year, ten Russian tourists were injured in a bus accident on the Hurghada-Safaga road, while in September, 42 Egyptians were injured in a similar bus crash on the Hurghada-Ras Gahreb road.
Road accidents are commonplace in Egypt due to loosely-implemented traffic laws and lack of adequate road maintenance.
According to the interior ministry, 2013 saw over 15,000 traffic accidents which killed over 6,700 people.
Hurghada is one of Egypt's most popular Red Sea resorts.
