Cairo Appeals Court acquitted 10 minor White Knights members, the fan club of the well-known Egyptian football club Zamalek on Wednesday, on charges of calling for an illegal protest in front of the Egyptian prosecutors office and for inciting violence.
The case dates to August 2014 when the Egyptian prosecution referred a minor to a juvenile court on charges of calling for illegal protests in front of the Egyptian prosecutors office to protest against the detainment of their fellow White Knights member.
They were also charged with inciting violence in the predominantly middle-class Cairo suburb of Shubra.
The initial verdict sentenced the defendants to two years in jail according to the protest law.
Wednesday's court ruling showed that the investigations did not provide any kind of evidence that the defendants called for the illegal protest.
