Two would-be bombers were killed on Saturday near the northern Egyptian city of Damanhour when their explosive device exploded while they were riding a motorcycle, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported.
The security head of Damanhour city, Mohamed Fathi, instructed security forces to sweep the area.
The men's remains were transferred to Damanhour hospital morgue; the assailants have yet to be identified.
Egypt was hit by a wave of bomb attacks over the past two years following the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
