Political dialogue is only solution out of crisis, Egypt's Sisi tells Yemen's VP

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met in Cairo on Sunday with Yemen'si Vice President and Prime Minister Khaled Bahah to discuss the latest developments in the Yemeni crisis.

In statements to the media, the Egyptian presidency's spokesperson Alaa Youssef said that the Yemeni VP expressed to President El-Sisi the apprection of Yemen's president Mansour El-Hadi for Egypt's support to Yemen. 

President El-Sisi stressed to the Yemeni VP that a political solution through dialogue under the auspices of the UN is necessary to achieve national reconciliation.

El-Sisi warned that a failure to reach a political settlement in Yemen could boost terrorist and radical groups in the country. 

Earlier on Sunday, Bahah signed a number of memorandums with his Egyptian Prime Ibrahim Mahlab, including one on cooperation against terrorism.

Egypt is a member in the Saudi-led military coalition that has launched a military operation against Iranian-backed up Houthi militants in Yemen since March.

Egyptian naval and air forces are taking part in the on-going military operation.
