Egypt’s ruling military council states they won't charge anyone who hands over unlicensed weapons before 30 June

Egypt’s military has called on all citizens who currently possess unlicensed weapons to voluntarily submit them to the nearest military unit in Cairo before 30 June. Those who submit the unlicensed weapons before the due date will not face any legal charges.

The military announced on Friday that those found in possession of unlicensed weapons after the due date will be held accountable and will face military prosecution and up to a lifetime sentence.

The military also announced that rewards will be granted to those who assist the military police in finding unlicensed weapons after the due date.
