Egyptian authorities deported 36 Sudanese citizens to Khartoum after their attempt to illegally immigrate to Italy last week, state-owned MENA agency reported on Thursday.
A security official told MENA that the deported 36 Sudanese were arrested while trying to travel on a fishing boat in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate.
Over the past month, Egyptian security authorities have arrested over 600 Egyptian and Sudanese migrants who were attempting to cross into Libya, which is considered a hot spot for illegal immigration to Europe.
