Former MP arrested for inciting violence against Tahrir protesters

More arrested for inciting violence against demonstrators in Tahrir Square during what has come to be known as 'Battle of the Camel'

Head of the investigative committee of the so called "Battle of the Camel" on 2 February, Judge Mahmoud El-Sabrout, ordered on Tuesday that former MP Said Abd El-Khaleq be detained for 15 days. Abd El-Khaleq is accused of involvement in the attack on protesters in Tahrir Square.

According to eyewitnesses, Abd El-Khaleq was seen in Tahrir Square inciting violence against demonstrators. Abd El-Khaleq denies charges, saying he was only participating in a pro-stability demonstration.
