Egypt's Higher Elections Committee (HEC) said on Tuesday that there will not be any electoral polling stations in countries stricken by armed conflicts such as in Yemen, Syria and Libya, Al-Ahram's Arabic news website reported.

The HEC issued a decision to determine the electoral stations that will operate abroad and that the stations staff will consist of diplomatic and consular officials.

The final list of accepted candidates will be announced on Wednesday by the HEC.

The first stage of parliamentary elections is set to begin on 17 October.
