Public prosecutor Abdel Magid Mahmoud has ordered the public funds prosecution to investigate former first lady Suzanne Thabet, former minister of housing and urban communities Ibrahim Soliman along with Ahmed Fouad Abdel Moez, the CEO of the industrial and engineering projects company, and Adel Attia, the CEO of Horse construction company, for profiteering and abuse of position.

Businessman Mohamed Ahmed Omar filed a complaint to the public prosecutor office that in year 2002 he was assigned several sewage system projects and after almost completing them in 2004 Adel Moez bargained with him to take LE 320,000 and hand over the rest of the project to Adel Attia, who is allegedly related to Suzanne Mubarak.

According to Omar, the former first lady ordered Soliman to assign all projects to people related to her.

Omar could not report the matter under the former regime nor demand the rest of his financial dues.

Former first lady Suzanne Thabet was interrogated in Sharm El Sheikh by the illicit gains authority last May and was released after handing over assets to the state.

She is currently facing other charges as well, including charges of misappropriation public funds and abusing public office positions, along with minister of antiquities Zahi Hawas.
