Mobile, phone landlines, and Internet connections resumed in South Sinai Monday night after an outage that started in the afternoon, Aswat Masriya reported.

Telecom Egypt announced a signal disconnection due to cable damage on Monday.

The Taba-Noueiba and Suez-Ras Sudr cables were repaired after the connection in South Sinai had been lost since two thirty in the afternoon.

Communications and technology minister Yasser El-Ady has assigned Telecom Egypt’s chief executive to follow up on the repair operations and determine the causes of the outage, Ahram's Arabic news website reported.

South Sinai is home to many resorts and beach towns that attract visitors from all over the world.
