Two Egyptian policemen and two civilians were wounded on Friday morning while attempting to defuse an explosive device at Al-Remaia Square near the pyramids in Giza governorate, Egypt's Ministry of Interior announced in the late afternoon.
The injured policemen and citizens were taken to hospital for treatment.
Terrorist attacks against security forces increased in Egypt -- particularly in northern Sinai -- after the ousting of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
