Jordan to compensate families of Egyptian fireworks accident victims

Jordanian authorities will pay financial compensation and pensions to the families of five Egyptians who died in a fireworks truck accident on Monday, Egypt’s immigration and expatriate affairs minister, Nabila Makram, announced on Wednesday.

The bodies of the deceased arrived to Cairo airport on Wednesday from Jordan, Makram added.

Two containers filled with fireworks exploded in a customs storage area in Jordan's capital of Amman on Monday, killing five people and wounding 10, several critically.

The Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasr Al-Gouda extended his condolences to his Egyptian counterpart following the incident.
