Russia to send 3 emergency planes to Sinai: Russia Today

Russia's emergencies ministry is sending three of its planes to the site of the plane crash in Egypt's Sinai, according to Russia Today.

Three EMERCOM jets are awaiting orders for takeoff, the Russian agency reported.

A Russian passenger plane crashed on Saturday morning in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula due to a technical failure according to Egyptian authorities.

An aviation team is on their way to extract the black boxes to determine the reason for the crash.

A death toll has yet to be announced.
