Egyptian search and rescue team members have heard voices in a section of the Russian plane that crashed in Sinai early Saturday, an officer on the scene told Reuters.
"There is another section of the plane with passengers inside that the rescue team is still trying to enter and we hope to find survivors especially after hearing pained voices of people inside," the officer, who requested anonymity, said.
Reuters also reported that five children were confirmed dead by the same source who also said the plane has been split into two. Other bodies were found strapped to their seats inside the crashed plane.
A Russian passenger plane carrying 217 passengers crashed on Saturday morning in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula due to a technical failure according to Egyptian authorities.
A death toll has yet to be announced.
Egyptian rescue teams and ambulances have rushed to the scene.
Some of the bodies are currently being transported to Suez hospital, a medical source told Ahram Arabic website.
