Three people were killed in a car bomb explosion in the city of Abu Kbeer in the Nile Delta’s Sharqiya governorate, state owned MENA agency reported.

MENA quoted a security source that said two of the people killed were affiliated with the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood and had arrest warrants issued against them in several cases.

The third person killed in the blast was passing by the street when the explosion took place.

Bomb disposal experts arrived at the scene to inspect the car and determine the reasons and circumstances of the accident, a security source said.

The source added that a security cordon was imposed at the site of the explosion until the investigation is complete.
