The trial of ousted president Hosni Mubarak’s will take place in a lecture hall on the premises of the Police Academy in the district of New Cairo. The trial will continue its provisions in consecutive sessions, regardless of the set time-span decided for the trial, which is two days, starting on 3 August.
Those who will be admitted to watch the trial include the plaintiffs or their representatives, the defence team, first or second degree relatives of the accused, Egyptian media and authorised foreign media representatives. A total of 600 people will be admitted into the hall.
Only Egyptian State TV cameras will be allowed into the hall to transmit the trial. The announcement of the verdict will also be transmitted live. No other private cameras or cell phones will be allowed into the trial.
The details of the trial's proceedings were announced in a press conference earlier today by a member of the judicial team responsible for conducting Mubarak’s trial.
