Cold temperatures will continue in Egypt Sunday after the country has welcomed the New Year with a spell of rain, the state-run MENA news agency reported.
A fog will be present in Cairo, the Nile Delta and Suz Canal cities of Suez and Port Said in the morning hours.
The Mediterranean Sea will be very unstable, with waves rising between three and three and a half metres high.
A number of ports have already closed Saturday in Alexandria City, overlooking the Mediterranean, to prevent ships from colliding with one another.
The Red Sea, on the other hand, will be stable, with waves rising to a maximum of two metres high.
Cairo will witness highs of 16 and lows of 8 degrees Celsius, while the coastal city of Alexandria will witness highs of 17 and lows of 9 degrees Celsius.
Warmer weather is expected in touristic Sharm El-Sheikh resort with highs of 20 and lows of 11 degrees Celsius. Similarly, temperatures in Hurghada resort will range between 20 degrees Celsius in the day and 9 degrees at night.
