The Governor of Fayoum Ahmed Ali has acquiesced to the demands of the martyrs’ ‎families, including naming some of the streets and schools after those who were killed ‎while peacefully protesting during Egypt's January 25 Revolution. ‎

It is understood that the names of the streets and schools located in the martyrs’ ‎districts will be changed.‎

Last night, the governance of Fayoum held an iftar banquet (the meal that breaks the daily Ramadan fast) to commemorate the ‎revolt’s victims and handed over financial compensations to their relatives.‎

“All the demands of the martyrs’ families are legitimate,” Governor Ali said.‎

“The martyrs will always be remembered and we have to achieve the freedom and ‎prosperity they wished for.”‎
