Hot weather across Egypt to extend to Saturday

Meteorologists expect temperatures to reach 32 degrees Celsius in some parts of the county

Egypt's meteorologists expect hot weather holding out across the country over the past week to extend to Saturday, with highs forecast to reach 32 degrees Celsius.

Summer temperatures are expected across the country's northern coast in the daytime, with hotter weather predicted in other parts of the country, state news agency MENA reported.

The capital Cairo is expected to see a high of 32 C (99 F) and a low of 17 (62 F), while the Mediterranean city of Alexandria will be slightly colder, with a high of 27 C (81 F) and a low of 16 (60 F).

Temperatures in the north are estimated at average highs of 26 C (79 Fahrenheit) and lows of 16 C (60 F).

The Suez Canal cities, southern Sinai beach resorts and Upper Egypt cities will be the hottest, with highs reaching 32-33 C (99-91 F). Lows there are forecasted between 14-21 C.

Winds carrying sand and dust are also forecast across the country, with light rainfall predicted in central and southern Sinai and some regions in the country's southern flank.
