According to Haaretz newspaper website, shots were fired from Egypt across the border with Israel on Sunday.

According to initial reports, no one was wounded as a result of the shooting, which was apparently intended for an Israel Defense Forces vehicle.

The soldiers did not identify the source of the shooting in Sinai so they did not return fire, the website added.
