Wafd Party General Secretary Fouad Badrawi has reiterated that his party would not include ‎former NDP figures on its electoral lists. ‎

It was suggested that Wafd would try to bring back into parliament members of ‎the now-defunct National Democratic Party through their party lists. ‎

“We stressed more than once that the decision jointly made by the executive office and ‎the supreme department of the party stipulates that no ex-NDP members would be ‎added to our electoral lists,” Badrawi said.‎

The NDP, formerly headed by toppled president Hosni Mubarak, used to dominate the ‎parliament during the lengthy tenure of the 83-year-old former leader.

In 2010, parliamentary elections were blatantly rigged to favour the NDP and ‎eliminate opposition groups.
