The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has said hot weather currently hitting the country would ease Monday.

He added that humidity would also drop starting Monday.

The spokesman added that Saturday and Sunday's weather is expected to be extremely hot in most areas of the country.

On Friday, the authority predicted that Saturday high in the capital Cairo would reach 39 degrees Celsius, with lows of 25 degrees.

The authority added that coastal city Alexandria's weather is predicted to be cooler, with highs of 31 degrees and lows of 24.
