Shoukry, Kerry discuss Libya, Israeli-Palestinian peace process by phone

Kerry is set to meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Paris on Saturday

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry spoke with US Secretary of State John Kerry Thursday about regional developments in a phone call, according to an Egyptian foreign ministry statement, two days before Kerry is set to meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Paris.

Shoukry and Kerry discussed the Palestinian-Israeli peace process and the Syrian crisis.

They also talked about "the situation in Libya and the Egyptian efforts to bring closer the stances of different Libyan sides," the statement read.
