Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is scheduled on Monday to meet his Singaporean counterpart Tony Tan in Cairo, a presidential statement read.

The two presidents will hold a press conference after talks in which they are expected to discuss bringing Singaporean investment to Egypt.

The visit marks 50 years of diplomatic relationships between the two countries.

In August 2015, President El-Sisi visited Singapore -- the first visit by an Egyptian president to the Asian country since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1966.

Singapore named an Orchid after El-Sisi during his visit.

During the 2015 visit, Tan and El-Sisi signed a number of memoranda of understanding as well as oil and natural gas deals.
