Germany's Merkel offers condolences to Egypt's Sisi over church bombing

Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel offered her condolences to the Egyptian government and people on Tuesday during a telephone call with Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi over the bombing of a Coptic church in Cairo on Sunday, the Egyptian presidency announced.

El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the call from the German chancellor and her condolences.

The statement also added that the two leaders also discussed different issues including developing bilateral relations.

On Sunday an explosion hit St. Peter and St. Paul Church in Cairo killing 24 people and injuring 49 others.
