A gang of eight members are being interrogated for forming a ring that exploits street children.

The members are accused of exploiting street children in the Heliopolis district, raping them and forcing them to beg and steal. The suspects were arrested after eighteen juvenile children were found stealing and begging by the police on Abbas El Akkad Street. When they were taken to the prosecution they reported that they were raped by eight people and forced to steal.

The prosecution also referred all the children to the forensic medicine to assess if they were subjected to rape.

The Madinet Nasr Prosecution ruled that the members will be held for four days pending investigation.
