Egypt’s PM meets UK foreign and defence ministers, discusses cooperation

Egypt's Prime Minister Sherif Ismail met on Wednesday British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson while participating in the London Somalia Conference in the UK capital, Ahram Arabic website reported.

Johnson expressed his gratitude to the Egyptian leadership and his appreciation for Egypt's participation in the conference, which is intended to speed up progress on security sector reform in Somalia.

Ismail and Johnson discussed in their short meeting the latest developments in the Middle East region, particularly in Libya.

Ismail also met on Wednesday with the UK's Minister of Defence Michael Fallon. The two discussed Egyptian-British relations and cooperation in security and military fields.

They also discussed bilateral coordination on several issues, including counter-terrorism efforts.
