Egypt’s defence minister meets French foreign minister in Cairo

Egyptian Minister of Defence Sedky Sobhi met French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian in Cairo on Thursday, where they discussed the latest developments in the region.

The Egyptian armed forces announced that the two ministers discussed the latest efforts in the war on terrorism as well the peace process in the Middle East region and agreed on continuing coordination and talks in regards to those matters.

The meeting was attended by the Egyptian army chief of staff Mahmoud Hegazy and the French ambassador to Egypt.

Le Drian is currently visiting Cairo.

He also met with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Thursday.
