The Egyptian army has killed three "highly dangerous" militants during a raid in Sinai, the Egyptian military said in a statement on Friday.

The army arrested one militant and destroyed two motorbikes at a militant hideout, according to military spokesman Tamer El-Refai.

Hundreds of security personnel in North Sinai have been killed in attacks claimed by militants, while the military has killed hundreds of insurgents as part of its ongoing campaign to end the Islamist insurgency in North Sinai.
