Three members of the same family died in the early hours of Saturday when their car overturned on Egypt’s Alexandria-Matrouh Road, state news agency MENA reported.

The deceased are Ahmed Magdy Kamel, an electric engineer, his wife Nancy Mohamed Abdel-Kader and their four-month infant, Mohamed.

The prosecution is currently investigating the reasons behind the fatal road crash, MENA added.

In 2015, a total 14,548 road accidents were recorded by Egypt's official statistics agency.
