Egypt's High State Security Prosecution on Monday referred a man suspected of killing three tourists in Hurghada in July to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation, state agency MENA reported.

Abdel-Rahman Shaban Abokorah will be detained at the psychiatric hospital for 45 days, in order for doctors to write a report about his psychological stability.

The suspect is accused of killing three foreign women, two Germans and a Czech, and injuring two other tourists in July in an attack in the resort city of Hurghada.

Authorities have so far not commented officially the suspect’s motives.
