The armed forces have used barbed wire to block El-Falaky Street, which runs parallel to the Parliament and Shura Council buildings and leads to the Ministry of Interior, to prevent attacks on the ministry.

Nearby, demonstrators outside the cabinet building on Magles El-Shaab Street have set up additional plastic tents as protection from the rain, blocking the flow of traffic. Demonstrators were previously camped on the pavement.
