Egypt's Sisi appoints presidency chief-of-staff Kamel as acting intelligence chief

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi issued a decree on Thursday appointing presidency chief-of-staff Abbas Kamel as the acting chief of the country's General Intelligence Service (GIS).

Kamel, who will remain in office until a new chief is named, is replacing Khaled Fazwy as GIS cheif.

Fawzy had held the office of GIS chief since 2014.
