Egypt's Sisi meets with Iraqi parliamentary delegation in Cairo

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed on Tuesday the latest developments in Iraq with Iraqi parliament speaker Salim Al-Jabouri and a delegation from the Iraqi parliament visiting Cairo, El-Sisi’s office announced.

During the meeting at the presidential palace, El-Sisi expressed Egypt's full support for the unity of Iraq and efforts to restore security and stability in Iraq.

He also stated that Egypt was open to cooperate with Iraq in all bilateral fields, in addition to the ongoing bilateral collaboration and consultation.

Al-Jabouri congratulated Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi for his victory in the Egyptian presidential elections held last week; El-Sisi received 97 percent of votes cast, securing him a second term.

The meeting between El-Sisi and the Iraqi parliamentary delegation was attended by Egyptian House of Representatives speaker Ali Abdel-Aal and the Iraqi ambassador in Cairo.
