Three Chinese tourists dead, eight injured in road accident near Egypt's Alexandria

Three Chinese tourists died and eight others were injured in a microbus accident on the desert road west of Alexandria, MENA news agency reported.

The microbus, which was carrying a group of Chinese tourists, overturned and fell into a small canal on the road.

Officials have said that two of the injured, who have been taken to a hospital west of Alexandria, are in critical condition.

China has been among the top sources of tourists visiting Egypt during the last few of years. The number of Chinese tourists visiting Egypt increased by 94 percent in 2017 compared to the previous year.
