Egypt's Foreign Ministry has condemned "in the strongest terms" Sunday's suicide bomb attacks on three Indonesian churches which left at least 11 people dead.

At least 11 people were killed and 40 wounded in the attacks on three churches in Indonesia's second-largest city of Surabaya early on Sunday.

The ministry expressed condolences for the victims' families and stressed its full solidarity with the people and government of Indonesia in the fight against "sinful terrorism."

"These attacks reflect the ugly face of terrorism and its extremist ideology, which is far removed from the tolerant principles of Islam that prohibit shedding the blood of the innocent," the statement added.
