Egypt's military production ministry signs cooperation protocol with South Sinai for developmental projects

Egypt's Minister of Military Production Mohamed El-Assar signed a protocol of cooperation with the South Sinai governorate to implement a number of developmental and manufacturing projects, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported on Monday.

El-Assar said that the ministry will work to provide technolgies and services to families living in South Sinai, and will produce LED lamps and assist in the installation of solar panels at a school in South Sinai's city of Al-Tur.

The initiative also includes providing waste removal equipment, upgrading and maintaining buildings, public facilities and roads, installing renewable energy systems to save electricity, as well as supplying fire-fighting equipment and alarm systems to protect public facilities.

The ministry will also supply the governorate with electronic databases and systems technologies.

"Cooperation between the Ministry of Military Production and the South Sinai governorate achieves the public benfit of optimum use of local resources and capacities inorder to implement the government's policy of prioritizing the local product," El-Assar said.

South Sinai governor Khaled Fouda said that the governorate is seeking to implement further initiatives in coordination with the ministry in order to provide more services to citizens.
