Egypt's Defence Minister Sedki Sobhi said on Wednesday that the armed forces are continuing to decisively confront any attempts to harm Egypt's national security, state-owned MENA news agency reported.
Sobhi's speech came during an Iftar event organised by the armed forces and attended by army Chief-of-Staff Mohamed Farid and a number of military commanders.
The event was also attended by army personnel from the third field army and other special units.
The defence minister said that the armed forces have vowed to secure and protect the homeland and its territorial integrity against all dangers and challenges.
Sobhi praised the combat doctrine adopted by the army in carrying out all the tasks entrusted to them with all devotion and sincerity, noting the successes achieved by the anti-terror Operation Sinai 2018.
Sobhy said that security forces are continuing with strength and determination to defeat the roots of terrorism in North Sinai.
The minister added that the capabilities and readiness of the armed forces to secure and protect the state are the real wealth of Egypt.
