Egypt's Foreign Ministry condemned a blast that targeted a campaign rally for Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa in a statement released on Saturday.

The blast resulted in the injury of many Zimbabwean officials.

"Egypt expresses its relief at the survival of President Mnangagwa and the failure of the attempt, wishing the injured a speedy recovery" , the statement said.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that Egypt stands by the brotherly people and government of Zimbabwe and their efforts to achieve stability and safety in their country.
