Egypt’s navy launches joint exercise with US, Saudi Arabia and UAE

Egypt's naval forces launched the joint exercise 'The Eagle Response 2018' with the US, Saudi and Emirati navies on Tuesday, the Egyptian Armed Forces announced.

The naval drill will be conducted in Egyptian territorial waters in the Red Sea for several days.

Units from the navies of Jordan, Pakistan and South Korea will participate in the exercise as observers.

The exercises will include theoretical lectures on dealing with marine mines as well as joint practical exercises on ship inspection.

The exercises come as part of the joint cooperation between the Egyptian Armed Forces and the US military on using the latest naval fighting systems and building experience for the naval forces participating in the drill.
