Ousted President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak arrived on Wednesday at the court after midday meaning a late start to the 15th session of his trial in the first noticeable delay since the start of the trial in August 2011.

Mubarak was being transferred from the International Medical Centre in a helicopter to the court at the police academy in the New Cairo area.

Alaa and Gamal Mubarak, as well as Habib El-Adly, along with other defendants had already arrived to the court earlier.

The prosecution is going to continue its case on Wednesday after resuming on Monday. It is expected that the prosecution will end its case on Thursday.

Mubarak, former minister of interior Habib El-Adly and six of the latter’s assistants are accused of killing protesters during the early days of 25 January revolution. On Monday, the public prosecution instructed the court that the protesters under consideration in this case excludes all protesters killed in clashes outside police stations during the 18-dy uprising.

Meanwhile, Mubarak’s sons Alaa and Gamal as well as runaway businessman Hussein Salem are facing corruption charges.

The ousted president first appeared behind bars on 3 August.
